چکیده
Abstract The most common fault in aviation power transmission systems is the fatigue fracture of gears, which seriously affects reliability and safety structure. aim this study to analyze crack propagation path (CPP) predict life (CPL) gears. location initiation determined by statics analysis building a gear pair model ANSYS software. A FEM with created, Stress Intensity Factor (SIF) at tip calculated, influence initial state on SIF analyzed. FRANC3D adopted obtain CPP CPL. Based obtained results, impact structure parameters CPL discussed. With reduction flange thickness, web root radius, gradually decreases.

Predicting Depth and Path of Subsurface Crack Propagation at Gear Tooth Flank under Cyclic Contact Loading
In this paper, a two-dimensional computational model is proposed for predicting the initiation position and propagation path of subsurface crack of spur gear tooth flank. In order to simulate the contact of teeth, an equivalent model of two contacting cylinders is used. The problem is assumed to be under linear elastic fracture mechanic conditions and finite element method is used for numerical...
متن کاملAnalytical Crack Propagation Scenario for Gear Teeth and Time-Varying Gear Mesh Stiffness
In this paper an analytical crack propagation scenario is proposed which assumes that a crack propagates in the tooth root in both the crack depth direction and the tooth width direction, and which is more reasonable and realistic for non-uniform load distribution cases than the other presented scenarios. An analytical approach is used for quantifying the loss of time-varying gear mesh stiffnes...
متن کاملCrack Propagation Speed in the Drying Process of Paste
We investigated crack propagation in the drying process of a thin layer of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) paste experimentally. Cracks are induced by uniform desiccation from the top surface of a layer at the approximately same water content for various drying conditions. We found that the crack speed is a nonlinear increasing function of the drying rate at the cracking time although the tensile str...
متن کاملHigh temperature fatigue crack propagation behaviour of Inconel 718
The overall objective of this work has been to develop and evaluate tools for designing against fatigue in gas turbine applications, with special focus on the nickelbased superalloy Inconel 718. The fatigue crack propagation behaviour under high temperature hold times has been studied. Firstly, the main fatigue crack propagation phenomena have been investigated with the aim of setting up a basi...
